Life verse: Philippians 4:13 – "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me." You see, I can’t do all things, but I can do all things which God has for me to do from the time He saved me to the time He will take me out of this world. It is all from Him, through Him and to Him be the glory. Amen.

Walk this day in the strength that Jesus provides. PastorIrish@ocAmazingGraceMinistries.com 949-433-0148

Bruce Bender

Retired / Substitute

Bruce has a heart for those living in nursing homes. Weekly he visits, teaches and prays with many he calls friends. We are truly blessed to have Bruce, a stalwart committed man of God.

Bruce is a Iwo Jima war veteran and a retired U.S. Marine, who also serves as Chaplain with Armor of Light Ministries at Camp Pendleton. Major Bruce Bender, shares how he and his men were pinned down on the beach in a trench made by a 16-inch battleship shell in World War II. With bullets flying from every direction, he came face to face with the realization that despite all his military training, his only hope for deliverance was Jesus Christ.

He shared, "I closed my eyes and started to pray. I asked the Lord for protection but also for the strength and courage for my men to complete their mission." Major Bender felt a warm breeze cover him and a hand on his shoulder. He sensed he heard the Lord's voice say, "My son, my precious son, be not afraid for I am with you."

Dave Lyons

Pastor of the Lord Dave joined Amazing Grace Ministries in August, 2006 and visits Orange County Nursing homes each week and sees residents and patients in their own rooms. "I enjoy the personal time together sharing Scripture, answering questions, providing devotionals, and praying with these wonderful people. It is inspiring to me to see how they handle the loneliness and difficulties in their lives."

Dave has been serving in the New Believers ministry at his church since 2002 helping seekers and new believers, and served in his church's Children's Prison Ministry of Tijuana for several years. A local Tijuana ministry has now taken over that service.

Since 2005 he has worked with a clothing ministry providing clothing and personal items to the homeless in Orange County. The Christian Witnesses Ministry in which he serves reaches out to the unsaved in a variety of places to bring them the Good News of the Gospel.

Another ministry works to provide supplies to send in care packages to our military personnel overseas. Many times personal items or comfort items are difficult to find in the remote or semi-remote locations in which they defend us.

As a member of the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, he brings the Lord to victims of natural disasters to help them cope with their losses such as in the fires we have had in the Southern California areas. Dave has also authored successful gospel tracts designed to provide a complete presentation from conviction, to salvation, to discipleship.

Bill DeLannoy

Willem (Bill) DeLannoy joined Amazing Grace Ministries in 2008.

Born in the former Dutch East Indies, Bill’s parents were Belgian-Indonesian and German descent. Bill’s "mother" tongue is Dutch, and he speaks German, English and is familiar with Afrikaans, French, Russian, Italian and Indonesian. His interest and heart for missions began almost from the day of his commitment of faith in Jesus Christ in 1977. He continues to have a passion to see the name of Jesus made known in the world around him as well as the world at large.

He began taking missions trips in 1983, to Poland (Eastern Europe), which were followed by subsequent trips. Bill and wife Sharon lived in Germany as full-time missionaries for 3 years 1986-89. His commitment was to take the concept of Small Groups ministry to the suffering church behind the Iron Curtain. They implemented the Colossians 2:7 format for lay people in Romania, E. Germany and Yugoslavia and Poland. He has subsequently traveled to over 15 countries, on missionary projects. His life verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your hear, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your path straight.

Carol Matthews

Carol grew up on the East Coast in a Navy Family and married her high school sweetheart Tim at the age of 18. Carol and Tim have lived most of their lives in Southern California and have been happily married for 48 years, they have two grown children and three grandsons. Carol and Tim are retired and live in Arizona.

Carol’s love for the elderly began 35 years. Shortly after coming to Jesus Christ in 1972, Carol volunteered to sing at a convalescent home one Christmas and from that day forward, Carol was hooked!! After seeing the loneliness and the need in the homes, she has been sharing God’s Word, His Love, and Hope ever since. Carol has a knack for working with Alzheimer, Stroke, and bed ridden patients. Carol has learned the wisdom of having a Church covering as she ministers to the elderly and she feels very fortunate to be a part of Orange County Amazing Grace Ministries.

Carol has a number of Scriptures that truly bless her heart: Isaiah 35: 3-4 says "Encourage the exhausted and strengthen the feeble. Say to those with anxious heart, take courage and fear not’. Proverbs 16:31 says "a grey head is a crown of glory; it is found in the way of righteousness. We are to honor the elderly. In Carol's opinion, James 1:27 says it best; "Pure and undefiled religion is the sight of God is to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."

"Truly, in this ministry, I am the one receiving the greater blessing"

Joshua Brown

In 2013 I was first introduced to Amazing Grace Ministries while working as an Activities Director at a skilled nursing facility. Each week I saw two devoted AGM Pastors share the Good News with the residents. These weekly visits became a great source of comfort, encouragement and fellowship for myself and the residents under my care.

I soon became a volunteer, and now I have the privilege to be part of the AGM Team. I believe that Amazing Grace Ministries is an integral part of the communities it serves. I love the responses I've seen from the seniors and their families.

Bringing church to those confined to nursing homes I feel it is my calling and to bolster and encourage the faith of those who are now physically unable to leave the facility and join their church home is a privilege.
