OCAGM loves Christmas... Yes, you see Santa... and Santa loves Jesus. The Christmas Program is presented 7 times to care facilities from Dec 19-Dec. 25. The #15 Annual Christmas Visit schedule will be mailed and posted by Dec. 10th. Family friendly visits...mark your calendars.
Mariner’s Church invited OCAGM to be a part of the Be Fearless Campaign in the spring of 2018. Here you see Pastor Irish being interviewed... his heart for the mission God Gave him 15 years ago has not waned... this 78 year old eagerly Serves in 5 homes every week.
God provided us a jewel ...Chaplain Heather Riley Joined OCAGM. Jumped right in and here you see Her training the team at the Monthly Ministry Luncheons Heather is perfectly qualified…read her story in our Fall Newsletter.
Chaplain Heather Riley, our Executive Director was interviewed by Pam Christian of Faith to Live. This international Christian radio program asked us to cover the topic of Elder Care in Today world. The 25 min interview DVD is on our web site.
The 2nd week in May is National Nursing Home Week, these helpers came to to put together "kisses". It was a sweet time... then we went and shared them with the caregivers. We met the nurses, the cooks, the housekeeper, the physical therapist and those in maintance... every one loves hearing "Thank you."
Our June training had 44 in attendance. Chaplain Heather made the 4 hours fun, and meaningful as she trained on the Amazing Hour Program, staying present with the resident. And Room 2 Room training for those unable to leave their beds. Our next volunteer training will be in January 2019.
It was Christmas in July!! These women helped create 30 blankets as we got to know one another and share lunch... it was a fun day... creating warmth on a hot July day. Only 370 to go!!
A Saturday morning gathered around to Praise the Lord together. This group from Mariner’s church brings laughter too..they are an answer to our prayers!!
Mariners Singles has Adopted A Nursing Home, in Newport Beach. Warm smiles, and tender hearts come every other week. We are Blessed to have this young energy share the Gospel, songs and prayers With residents and the staff. God Bless them.
Sherry Stewart made 88 scarfs for us….her fingers are magic…as is her smile. These scarfs will be given out to residents during our 15th Annual Christmas Visits, December 19-25th. Mark your calendars, schedules mailed out by Dec. 10th.
PAINT A PUMPKIN PARTY at SAPRES….73 pumpkins were painted and given to Amazing Grace to give to the care facilities in October. These fun pumpkins Made everyone smile. We shared with the Care givers also Kathy Coffman is a delightful volunteer, we are blessed to have her help.
